White-feathered Meat Duck Industry Working Committee Officially Established
Recently, the White-feathered Meat Duck Working Committee of the China Animal Agriculture Association was officially established in Beijing. More than 150 people attended the meeting, including representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, industry experts and scholars, and white-feathered meat duck breeding and processing enterprises. The conference was chaired by Gong Guifen, Secretary-General of the Poultry Branch of the China Animal Agriculture Association.
Cao Jiafu, General Manager of Henan Huaying Agricultural Development Co., Ltd., pointed out at the conference that China's meat duck industry began to develop in the early 1990s. After more than 20 years of development, the breeding scale has now exceeded 3.5 billion birds, accounting for more than 70% of the global total. Both the inventory and duck meat production rank first in the world. However, in recent years, affected by factors such as H7N9 influenza and the shrinking consumer market, as well as market fluctuations and disorderly industry development, overcapacity has been caused and the industry has been sluggish. Under such circumstances, there is an urgent need to establish an industry organization to integrate and utilize the strengths and resources of all aspects of the white-feathered meat duck industry, give play to the synergy of the industry, and lead China's white-feathered meat duck industry out of the gloom toward healthy, stable and orderly development.
It is understood that the White-feathered Meat Duck Working Committee is a non-profit social organization jointly initiated by the Poultry Branch of the China Animal Agriculture Association and more than 10 enterprises including Henan Huaying Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. The Working Committee will actively carry out research on the development strategy of the white-feathered meat duck industry, standardize industry development, strengthen industry self-discipline, jointly safeguard food safety, resist industry risks, strengthen communication and scientific publicity, open up domestic and international markets, promote white-feathered meat duck consumption, drive technological innovation, and promote the healthy and sustainable development of the white-feathered meat duck industry.
The conference elected Cao Jiafu, General Manager of Henan Huaying Agricultural Development Co., Ltd., as the first Chairman of the Working Committee, appointed Meng Qingli, Chairman of Shandong Hekangyuan Group, as the first President, and reviewed and approved the "Rules of the White-feathered Meat Duck Working Committee of the China Animal Agriculture Association."
