Ministry of Agriculture issues the Outline of the Agricultural Intellectual Property Strategy
People's Daily Online, Beijing, June 10 (Reported by Xinhua) - The "Outline of the Agricultural Intellectual Property Strategy (2010-2020)" has recently been officially issued. This "Outline" was formulated and issued by the Ministry of Agriculture in response to the current state of China's agricultural intellectual property development and the needs of agricultural development, and is an important measure to strengthen scientific and technological support for agricultural development, safeguard national food security, and promote the sustained and healthy development of the agricultural and rural economy.
The Outline proposes that by 2020, China's capacity for the creation, application, protection and management of agricultural intellectual property will be raised to a new level, policies and regulations will be basically perfected, the management system will be basically sound, public service and technical support capabilities will be significantly enhanced, awareness of intellectual property will be deeply rooted in people's minds, intermediary service agencies and talent teams will meet the needs of developing circumstances, the volume of independent intellectual property rights in the agricultural field will enter the world's advanced ranks, and the supporting role of intellectual property in building agricultural modernization with Chinese characteristics will be significant.
