A few days ago, the Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau issued this reminder to citizens.

It is understood that in July 2008, our province introduced the first unified heat allowance standard. The regulations state that employers must not arrange for pregnant female employees to work outdoors in high temperatures above 35°C, or to work in places with a temperature above 33°C; those who must work outdoors in high temperatures above 35°C, or in places where the temperature cannot be lowered below 33°C, should receive a heat allowance.

The allowance standard is 8 yuan per person per day, implemented during the three months of July, August and September each year, calculated according to actual working days, and not included in the minimum wage.

The labor department reminds employers that they should conduct physical examinations for workers in high-temperature operations, and those unsuitable for high-temperature work should be transferred away from high-temperature posts. If heatstroke is caused by work and is verified by a health institution qualified to diagnose occupational diseases, the worker can enjoy work-related injury insurance benefits.
