Yilan Zaodaotian Leisure Farm has been rooted for five years, building an organic food-and-play agri-innovation space

Located in Yuanshan, Yilan, the Zaodaotian food-and-play agri-innovation space is being built on this piece of land that began as an eel-farming site in the 1970s of the Republic of China era, then later became farmland for crop cultivation, and now, as Zaodaotian, is renowned across Taiwan for its diamond-grade green building constructed with the solid-wood cross-laminated timber CLT method and building materials from Japanese hinoki cypress, all writing a new page in the history of Yuanshan, Yilan.

Chief Operating Officer Li Yongsheng said that in order to put the finishing touch on Yuanshan and paint the dragon in Yilan at such a height, the founder spent a long time working with a well-known architect, made a special trip to Hokkaido, Japan, for inspection, and then went through discussion and design; the project started in 2014 and after two years of construction, this dual green building was created, encompassing the solid-wood cross-laminated timber CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) method and LCBA carbon footprint certification. In addition, with the farm fully developing organic agriculture and devoting itself to organic farming, and with the full assistance and guidance of the Yilan County Government, it passed the Council of Agriculture's leisure farm review at the end of June and successfully obtained the "Zaodaotian Leisure Farm" certificate; at the same time, in organic cultivation, it also obtained the "Tse-Xin Organic Certification" certificate. Li Yongsheng said happily that in order to apply for the leisure farm and organic certification, the entire team went through many difficulties, but ultimately obtained organic certification and the leisure farm operating permit. In the future, Zaodaotian will expand its operations, bring more visitors to Yuanshan, Yilan, become the most dazzling scenic spot in Yilan, and will also be built into a green building park rich in the beauty of Taiwan.

A new place to shake off the boredom, Zaodaotian Leisure Farm. Li Jianhui, Deputy Chief Operating Officer of Zaodaotian Leisure Farm, said that since May this year, Taiwan has been hit hard by the epidemic, throwing all industries and the public into disarray. Although it has recently eased and a mini-unlock travel wave is about to arrive, Zaodaotian will launch a plan in August to give back to the local area, but will still open Zaodaotian Leisure Farm under epidemic prevention and effective and safe epidemic control. Whether it is the restaurant area, outdoor space, farmland production area, handmade bread area or other areas, under conditions that meet regulations and are free of safety concerns, they will all be opened to consumers who have been stifled at home for a long time, providing a safe and relaxing good place to go.

Afterward, Zaodaotian Leisure Farm also began promoting in September a new model in which consumers entering the leisure farm can offset their spending on admission. Li Jianhui further emphasized that during the Level 3 alert, Zaodaotian carried out a store renovation and launched a series of products at a must-buy level for consumers, "with online business growing, during the epidemic our online performance also grew more than tenfold," and many people who used online and telephone channels, and even on-site customers who came in person to pick up goods, are all waiting for the government's opening and lifting of restrictions; once restrictions are lifted and it opens, Zaodaotian will also open to all consumers at the first opportunity, letting everyone enter the farm to take part in farming, picking, dining and shopping. Li Jianhui further hopes that while waiting for the epidemic to recede and restrictions to be lifted, everyone can safely and healthily get through the challenges of this epidemic.
