Taichung Fushoushan Farm spring tea online pre-order sells out just 5 minutes after going on sale
Tea produced by Fushoushan Farm in Heping District, Taichung City is known as "the dream treasure of the tea world." Because of its small quantity and high quality, it is often fully pre-ordered before it even hits the market. This year, affected by the pandemic, spring tea switched to an online pre-sale model. The second batch of spring tea was released at 8:10 a.m. on June 10, and sold out in less than 5 minutes.

Fushoushan Farm said that in order to let more people buy the tea and to respond to the pandemic-related park closure, it adjusted to an online reservation model, with a maximum order of 10 Taiwan jin each time. The first trial batch of 500 Taiwan jin of spring tea went on pre-sale at 12:00 noon on June 1 and was fully booked in 29 minutes, with 127 consumers grabbing the first pick.

The second batch offered 1,000 Taiwan jin for reservation. Online booking opened at 8:10 a.m. on June 10, and 1,770 people rushed online to grab orders in an instant, including several overseas orders. It was snapped up in just 5 minutes, with 187 people securing orders. The average order quantity across the two batches was about 4 to 5 Taiwan jin, but more than 20 orders were for 10 Taiwan jin at once.
Fushoushan Farm deputy director Wang Renzhu said that in the past, whenever reservations began, the reservation phone lines were jammed as soon as they opened, and service colleagues took calls until their hands were sore and explained until they were hoarse, but tea production and manpower are truly limited and cannot simultaneously satisfy all the needs of enthusiasts. The pandemic has completely overturned this world, and "habits" must be adjusted and changed. Online shopping is now a very common transaction model, and many old customers who order by phone may not yet be used to it, so this year a gradual release method was adopted to let everyone gradually adapt to the modern transaction model.
Fushoushan Farm pointed out that a very small number of good friends failed to place orders because they were not yet familiar with this operating model. Please do not worry. Spring tea is still being harvested and processed, and more will be released in the future. The next time, the third batch of online reservations will open at 8:10 a.m. on June 20. The little secret to grabbing an order is to use the concept of grabbing train tickets: fill in the information that can be filled in advance, and place the order immediately once it opens.
