How are agricultural product origin standards strictly controlled?
Since the beginning of this year, Yiyuan County in Shandong Province has taken safeguarding the quality and safety of crop agricultural products as its bottom line, closely focusing on agricultural transformation and upgrading and sustained increases in farmers' incomes, and has persisted in grasping with one hand the effective supply of major agricultural products while with the other hand grasping quality and safety supervision, vigorously promoting large-scale and standardized agricultural production, steadily developing pollution-free agricultural products, and focusing on building a long-term mechanism for agricultural product quality and safety supervision, effectively raising the level of agricultural product quality and safety.
Yiyuan County strictly enforces access conditions for agricultural input business units and operators, strengthens the implementation of territorial management responsibilities, departmental supervision responsibilities and the primary responsibilities of production and business operators, fully implements the pesticide business notification system, promotes the pesticide purchase and sales ledger management system, and implements the "one-invoice-through" system to ensure the traceability of agricultural input quality.
In order to promote origin market-exit and traceability management, the county printed the "Agricultural Product Origin Market-Exit Certificate," with the first batch of 10 enterprises or cooperatives carrying out pilot programs. Relying also on the public information platform for agricultural product quality traceability of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and the Municipal Agriculture Bureau, it launched traceability pilots for agricultural product production enterprises and farmers' professional cooperatives, with 3 already completed and 6 under construction, achieving traceability across the entire chain of agricultural product production, purchasing, storage and transportation. At the same time, it vigorously promotes 10 key technologies including soil testing and formulated fertilization and integrated pest and disease control, has revised the quality and safety control norms and technical regulations for the county's leading agricultural products such as apples, peaches and grapes, printed and distributed more than 100,000 copies of technical management calendars, operation manuals or information sheets, newly built and upgraded 26 agricultural demonstration parks, and newly applied for 11 "Three Products and One Label" certifications, with the area of "Three Products and One Label" agricultural products accounting for more than 65% of the area of edible agricultural products.
