Oilseed rape polyploid genome jointly decoded by Chinese and foreign scientists
Recently, led by the International Brassica Genome Sequencing Consortium, the genome sequencing of Brassica napus (oilseed rape) was completed for the first time. This is the first complete sequencing and assembly of the complex genome of a traditional polyploid crop internationally, and it also completed a systematic comparison and

Polyploid black locust is a new type of tree species suitable for growing on poor soil
A sapling less than 10 cm long, looking like nothing more than a pea sprout, planted on barren land where nothing will grow, can shoot up to more than 3 m tall in a single year. This is a new type of tree species suitable for planting in China's western regions - polyploid black locust (Robinia pseudoacacia) - successfully cultivated by the Lvyuan Seedling Research and Promotion Center of Changyi City, Shandong Province, together with experts from Beijing Forestry University, using plant tissue culture technology on the basis of introduced foreign tree species. With its excellent drought resistance, salt-alkali tolerance and tolerance of poor soil, it has become a highly favored "golden sapling"

New Giant Polyploid Garlic Variety - Shuanggao 8000
I. Variety Origin: This variety was developed by transferring genes from Welsh onion and bitter melon into common garlic through years of selective breeding. II. Characteristics: Plant height 100-140 cm, wide leaves and thick stems, dark green color, vigorous growth, well-developed root system, strong disease resistance, early maturity. The garlic scapes have a good taste and come to market 8-10 days earlier than other garlic scapes. The garlic bulbs have a moderate taste with no bad breath odor. Under plastic film mulching, garlic scapes yield 1500 kg per 667 sq m, garlic bulbs 4000 kg, individual scape weight 100

Introduction to the Polyploid Giant Odorless Garlic Variety
This variety is a polyploid transgenic giant garlic developed by transferring genes from Welsh onion and bitter melon into ordinary garlic. Its bulbs weigh 250-600 g each, with the largest reaching 900 g. Its garlic sprouts grow 60-160 cm tall, with leaves 35 cm long and 8 cm wide, and 8 leaves. Per mu (1 mu = 667 sq m, the same below), it yields more than 2,000 kg of bulbs and more than 300 kg of garlic scapes, with a single scape weighing 50 g. It can be grown as seed for many consecutive years without degeneration, and it has also successfully eliminated the unpleasant bad breath that ordinary garlic causes after eating.
