Actively Responding to the Impact of Climate Change on China's Agricultural Production
Against the backdrop of global warming, the frequency and intensity of extreme drought events are steadily intensifying, and China's agricultural production is increasingly affected by extreme drought events. Data from the National Bureau of Statistics show that from the 1950s to the first decade of this century, the affected area of China's crops doubled, and the damaged area increased by 2.8 times; over the same period, the severity of the damage increased markedly, with the damage rate among affected areas rising from 32% to 58%; in addition, the scope of impact of extreme drought events expanded from the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in the 1950s to the vast areas of Northeast China, the northwest interior and the southwest today. Improving agriculture's capacity to adapt to climate change is an important component of implementing the national master plan for climate change adaptation and is crucial to safeguarding China's food security.

Higher output without higher income? Don't let a bumper harvest break farmers' hearts
Due to differences in geography and climate, when wheat sales and storage in the inland regions have already temporarily come to an end, Xinjiang's wheat is currently busy being sold outside the region. However, what is worrying is that although the wheat harvest was bumper, it cannot be transported out and is still piled up in the growers' farmyards

Cool-climate vegetables cool down the summer vegetable market
Summer and autumn cool-climate vegetables refer to vegetables produced in high-altitude (high mountain, plateau) and high-latitude cool regions. Every year from July to September, affected by the transition between vegetable production cycles, summer high temperatures, and disastrous weather such as typhoons and torrential rain, many areas in South China, Jiangnan, and the Huang-Huai River basin

Chinese scientists discover that the dominant wheat aphid species is changing due to climate change
Recently, a team led by researcher Ma Chunsen of the Institute of Plant Protection, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, after 6 years of research, found that climate change has broken the original balance of agricultural pest communities, changed the relative dominance among species in pest communities, and caused succession of the dominant species. It can

Climate change will have a huge impact on the seed industry
Agriculture is extremely sensitive to climate and weather conditions. If the impact of climate change on crops and the responses crops make could be better understood, the ability of crop production systems to adapt to climate change could be greatly improved. In some countries in Asia and Africa, because of cli
