Degradable-film controlled-release fertilizer for rice successfully developed in Hunan Province
The Soil and Fertilizer Institute of Hunan Province has developed a degradable-film controlled-release fertilizer for rice that can be widely applied in rice-growing regions of China with no side effects. Using natural and semi-natural polymer materials as the main coating components and adopting a self-developed new fluidized dual-spray-bed coating process, the Soil and Fertilizer Institute of Hunan Province developed a degradable-film controlled-release fertilizer whose nutrient release can be artificially controlled within 30 to 330 days. This controlled-release fertilizer is non-toxic, completely degrades within 2 years after being applied to the soil with no residue, and can reduce fertilizer pollution of the atmosphere, soil, water bodies and other environments.

How to manage water and fertilizer well after rice is hit by floods
What should be noted when righting and washing rice seedlings? For flooded paddy fields, drain the standing water promptly and right the lodged seedlings; clear the ditches in time to lower the groundwater level. Where irrigation facilities have suffered heavy damage, organize forces promptly for emergency repairs. After the water in the paddy field recedes, open ditches to drain it, so that soil water in the field seeps into the ditches and is discharged, lowering the field moisture content as quickly as possible, so that the floating mud formed by flooding gradually settles and compacts, thereby promoting new root growth. For fields that have been submerged for a long time, the water can be drained off all at once in rainy weather; if there is scorching sun and high temperature, drain gradually, first letting

After rice is flooded, attention must be paid to the three prevention measures
From mid-to-late June to mid-to-late July, southern regions are often hit by heavy rain, and some areas are prone to flooding disasters. If flooding occurs, in addition to carrying out conventional remedial measures, attention must also be paid to preventing outbreaks of bacterial diseases and mass outbreaks of migratory pests. Prevent the spread of bacterial brown stripe disease. As floodwaters overflow, the pathogen spreads and is transmitted and infects through wounds on rice plants caused by rain and floodwaters. The resistance of submerged rice plants declines, which is more conducive to disease spread. There is a process from after flooding to disease spread, therefore, for middle-season rice in flooded areas,

Key Technical Points for Autumn Potato Cultivation with Rice Straw Mulching (Part 2)
4. Timely early sowing. Potatoes prefer a cool climate, and the sowing period should be when the daily average temperature steadily drops below 25°C. In plain and hilly areas below 500 m in altitude, the suitable sowing period is from late August to early September; in low mountainous areas at 500-800 m in altitude, the suitable sowing period is in late August. 5. Reasonable close planting and sufficient base fertilizer. For fields with rice stubble potatoes intercropped with rapeseed, both potatoes and rapeseed are planted in wide-narrow row patterns. For potatoes, the wide row is 0.6 m, the narrow row is 0.2 m, the hill spacing is 0.22 m, and about 700

Key High-Yield Techniques for Cultivating Oyster Mushrooms on Rice Straw
High-Yield Techniques for Cultivating Oyster Mushrooms on Rice Straw 1. Selecting spawn: Experiments show that the relatively ideal strains include: the low-temperature type 792 and 118 oyster mushrooms; the medium-temperature type Xinnong No. 1, 9400 oyster mushroom, and Hypsizygus marmoreus; the high-temperature type Hainan No. 2, etc. (All of these spawns can be provided by the Binhai County Edible Fungi Research Institute.) 2. Seasonal scheduling: Along the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, sowing can be done from early August to mid-February of the following year, with mid-September to mid-November being the best sowing period. 3. Rice straw selection: Choose fully dried, mold-free, golden-colored rice straw
