Meat Lingzhi Pictures: Get to Know the True Appearance of Taisui
Pictures of meat lingzhi are an important way for many people to learn about this organism known as taisui. Meat lingzhi is commonly known among the public as taisui, and it is generally believed to be a composite life form made up of bacteria, fungi, slime molds and other organisms living together; it gets its name because its appearance is fleshy and it often forms clumps. It is not the same as the traditional lingzhi, which is the fruiting body of a fungus; the two differ clearly in form and structure.
Judging from common pictures of meat lingzhi, it mostly appears as irregular clumps or sheets, with a moist surface, and colors ranging from milky white and pale yellow to brown. When cut open, the interior is often translucent and fleshy or gelatinous, and it feels elastic to the touch. Some objects in pictures have a rather hard texture or unusually vivid colors; such cases need extra caution, as they may not be true meat lingzhi.
It should be noted that the quality of meat lingzhi pictures online varies greatly. Some pictures may have been beautified, or other gelatinous substances may have been mistaken for meat lingzhi. It is very hard to judge authenticity from a single photo. If you want to understand it more deeply, it is best to combine physical observation with composition testing, and not to draw conclusions lightly based on pictures alone.
In addition, although there is a folk saying that meat lingzhi can be soaked in water and drunk, there is still no unified conclusion about its composition and safety, and meat lingzhi of unknown origin is not recommended for casual consumption. Observing it as an interesting biological phenomenon, or referring to articles on this site about lingzhi cultivation and edible fungus labeling, are both safer ways to learn about it.
