Characteristics and Main Uses of Paulownia Flowers: When Paulownia Blooms Cover the Branches

Paulownia flowers are the blooms that the paulownia tree produces in spring. Paulownia is a very common deciduous tree in China, growing fast and highly adaptable, and it can be seen in many places both north and south. Common types include white-flowered paulownia (Paulownia fortunei) and royal paulownia (Paulownia tomentosa). It has a rather interesting habit: it flowers first and grows leaves afterward. Paulownia honey from many production areas is quite famous. In addition, the paulownia tree itself has light, soft wood and matures quickly, so it is also a common timber species.

In folk practice, dried paulownia flowers are often used to make tea or as medicine. Traditionally, they are believed to have a heat-clearing effect, but everyone's constitution is different.
