The price of hemp seed oil is affected by factors such as quality, place of origin and pressing process
Hemp seed oil is an edible oil pressed from hemp seeds (huomaren). In longevity villages such as Bama in Guangxi, there is a long-standing tradition of consuming it, and it is regarded as one of the local specialty grain and cooking oils. It contains a relatively high amount of unsaturated fatty acids and has a delicate fragrance, and it is often used for cold dishes, soups or low-temperature cooking, so many consumers pay special attention to its price trends when buying.
Judging from the market situation, the price of hemp seed oil is usually higher than that of ordinary edible vegetable oils, and the gaps between different products are also quite obvious. Whether the place of origin is a core production area, whether the quality of the raw material is good or bad, whether physical pressing or solvent extraction is used, and whether it is pure hemp seed oil or a blended oil - all of these factors are directly reflected in the selling price. In addition, different packaging specifications, brand positioning and sales channels also lead to price differences.
The cultivation scale of hemp seeds is relatively limited, and the harvest is greatly affected by climate. When the supply of raw materials is tight, the oil price often fluctuates accordingly. Blended products, however, have lower raw material costs and are also cheaper, so when buying, be sure to check the ingredient list and clearly distinguish between the two.
When purchasing, it is recommended to use regular channels, give priority to products with a single ingredient and clear labeling, and observe whether the oil is clear and whether the smell is natural. Because hemp seed oil has a relatively high content of unsaturated fatty acids, it should be stored away from light and sealed in daily storage, kept in a cool place or refrigerated in the fridge. When cooking, low temperatures should be the main method, and long periods of high-temperature frying should be avoided so as not to affect the flavor and nutrition.
