Guangxi is one of China's important mango-producing regions, with the main production areas concentrated around Baise City, among which the Youjiang River valley counties and districts such as Tianyang and Tiandong are the most famous. The climate here is warm with abundant sunlight, and the dry, hot conditions of the river valley are particularly suited to mango flowering and fruiting. Local mango cultivation has a long history, and Baise mangoes have also received national Geographical Indication Product protection.

In terms of varieties, Guangxi mangoes are diverse, with common ones including Tainong No. 1, Guiqi mango, Jinhuang mango, and Red Ivory. Different varieties ripen at slightly different times, with the fruiting season roughly extending from early summer to midsummer. Delicate flesh, rich aroma, and high sweetness are relatively common characteristics of Guangxi mangoes.

The mango industry has become an important source of income growth for local farmers. In addition to fresh fruit sales, processed products such as dried mango, preserved fruit, and juice have also emerged, and many orchards use e-commerce channels to sell mangoes across the country. Each year when mangoes hit the market in large quantities, some production areas also hold related festivals and picking activities, boosting rural tourism development.

When selecting Guangxi mangoes, you can check whether the skin is smooth and plump and whether the fruity aroma is pronounced; those with a slightly springy feel are generally at a better stage of ripeness. Green mangoes brought home can be left at room temperature to ripen; once ripe, it is best to refrigerate them and eat them as soon as possible to avoid over-ripening affecting the taste.
