Plastic labels are a commonly used marking tool in gardening.
Plastic labels are small marking tools commonly used in agricultural production and gardening. They are mostly long, narrow little tags, mainly used to record information such as variety names, sowing or transplanting dates, and numbers, helping growers distinguish different plants and plots and avoid confusion during management. Common materials include plastics such as PVC, PP, and PE, and the specifications and colors are also fairly diverse.
Their main advantages are being waterproof and moisture-resistant and withstanding sun and rain, so they do not easily become moldy or rot in the high-humidity environment of a greenhouse. The surface can be written on with an oil-based marker, the writing is relatively long-lasting, and after erasing it can be reused. Durability is better than paper and wooden labels, and the cost is also lower than metal tags.
In terms of style, plastic labels are roughly divided into several types: ground-insert type, hanging tag type, and tie-on type. The ground-insert type has a pointed bottom and can be inserted directly into seedbeds, flower pots, or field soil; the hanging tag type has a hole at the top and can be threaded with string to hang on branches or greenhouse frames; the tie-on type is strip-shaped and can be fixed around tree trunks or branches. Besides the common white and yellow, there are also many colored styles, making it easy to distinguish batches or areas by color.
When using them, it is recommended to write with an oil-based pen, as ordinary water-based pens tend to blur when exposed to water. When purchasing, pay attention to the thickness and toughness of the tags; labels that are too thin and too hard are prone to breaking at low temperatures. For deeper flower pots or seedbeds, choose models with sufficient length so the markings are not blocked and inconvenient to check. Under long-term strong sunlight, some materials will gradually age and become brittle; this is a normal phenomenon, and they just need to be replaced in time.
