Why doesn't my clivia bloom after being grown for several years?

I've been growing my clivia for several years, why won't it bloom?

The reasons why clivia does not bloom include the following:

Clivia will only bloom after it has grown 15 leaves. Seedlings need 4-5 years of care before they can bloom.

The suitable growing environment for clivia is a cool, semi-shaded spot; it dislikes strong light and dry conditions. The optimal growing temperature is 15°C-25°C, and growth stops below 5°C. It prefers rich, well-draining soil and moist soil.

The roots of clivia are fleshy roots, so air permeability is most important. The pot should be a ceramic pot or a purple clay pot. At the same time, the bottom of the pot should be lined with tiles to prevent water accumulation. For the potting soil, you can refer to the following formula: leaf mold 50%, coarse sand 15%, charcoal and rubble 20%, rotted fertilizer about 15%, mix evenly, or buy special clivia soil from a flower market. After the soil is prepared, it should be sterilized by sun exposure. Large clivia plants need to be repotted once or twice a year in spring and autumn.

Watering clivia should follow a regular pattern: do not water when the soil is not dry, and water thoroughly when you do. Frequently wipe the leaves with a damp cloth to increase humidity. Tap water should be stored for a few days before being used to water the plants.

Watering and fertilizing are best done at the same time. During the vigorous growth period, apply fully fermented rice washing water or a special fertilizer once every 15-20 days.

In summer, when temperatures are high, clivia should be placed in a ventilated spot, preferably on a water pool or water basin (raised with a wooden board), and water should often be sprayed around the plant and on the leaf surfaces to improve the temperature and humidity environment for the clivia. At the same time, fertilizing should be controlled, applying as little as possible or not at all.

The placement position and direction of the clivia should be changed frequently to ensure that the plant grows symmetrically.
