How many years can a clivia plant live?
Clivia is not difficult to grow, but keeping it alive for a long time is not so easy. Generally, its lifespan is over ten years. Of course, some well-grown ones can live for over twenty years or even thirty years, but the probability is very small. So, how many years can clivia live?
Clivia is a perennial herbaceous plant, and its cultivation history in our country is less than a hundred years. Clivia plants now over 30 years old are still alive today. According to observation, around three years of age is its adolescence, when the flowers grow vigorously; after flowering, at five or six years the plant's growth begins to decline. If managed properly without major pests and diseases, such as severe root rot, soft rot, core rot, decapitation, or after rejuvenation treatment, clivia's lifespan can continue for many years, reaching several decades or longer. A well-grown clivia living 30 years is no problem.
