What to Do When Your Cuban Oregano Wilts

Once your Cuban oregano (Plectranthus amboinicus) has wilted, you should take different remedial measures depending on the specific cause. If it is caused by insufficient light, increase the light to help the limp, soft leaves recover as quickly as possible. Also adjust the temperature, and do not keep it in an environment above 30°C for long periods. If the Cuban oregano has wilted because it has not been repotted for a long time, then replace the potting soil promptly and continue caring for it.

How to Handle a Wilting Cuban Oregano

1. Increase light

A wilted Cuban oregano may be caused by insufficient light; being kept in a dark environment for a long time will make the leaves limp and soft. Therefore, you need to increase light promptly and place it in a spot with ample light for care, so that the leaves can grow more healthily and become fuller and sturdier.

2. Adjust the temperature

Cuban oregano can maintain good growth at a temperature of around 25°C. If it is kept in an environment above 30°C for a long time, it may wilt. So in summer, keep it in a cool place for care, and in winter, maintain the temperature between 5-10°C so it can continue to grow.

3. Replace the potting soil

Potted Cuban oregano needs its potting soil replaced every 1-2 years. If it has not been repotted for a long time, the soil nutrients will be insufficient, causing it to become limp and soft. So repot it promptly; repotting is usually done in spring or autumn, which allows it to recover its growth more quickly.
