The optimal temperature for rooting when transplanting peonies

Around 15°C. Peonies differ from other flowers in that they enter a dormant period in summer, so the rooting temperature for peonies should not be too high; 15°C is ideal. At the same time, when transplanting peonies, in order to make them root as early as possible, besides keeping the temperature suitable, you can also carry out root-promoting treatment on the plant's roots.

How much is it

1. 15°C

Around 15°C. If the ambient temperature for peony growth is higher than 25°C, the plant will enter a dormant period and stop growing; if the temperature is too low, the plant's growth rate will be slow, and rooting will naturally be very slow as well. So if you want transplanted peonies to root, you need to keep the temperature at around 15°C.

2. Soaking in chemicals

If you want peonies to root as early as possible, you can give the plant appropriate rooting treatment before transplanting. First rinse the plant's roots clean with water, then soak the roots in potassium permanganate solution. After 5 minutes, take them out, rinse them clean, let them dry, and then transplant. After about 2 weeks, the plant will grow root hairs.

3. Applying rooting powder

If you want peonies to root as early as possible after transplanting, besides keeping the temperature at around 15°C, you also need to give the plant's roots appropriate treatment. Before transplanting, apply an appropriate amount of rooting powder to the plant's roots, which can promote the plant to grow root hairs, but before applying the rooting powder, the plant also needs to be washed clean.

4. Water culture rooting

First giving the plant water culture treatment before transplanting can also make the plant root as early as possible. First wash the plant clean, then insert it into a transparent glass container, then pour in an appropriate amount of water, burying one third of the stem, and drip in a small amount of rooting liquid. After waiting 20 days, once the plant has grown root hairs, it can be transplanted.
