How to handle a newly bought money tree

I. Treatment before potting

After a newly purchased money tree is moved to a new environment, it needs some time to adapt to it. About one week is enough. During this period, observe its condition often. If the soil is dry, give it water once. After that, you can repot it.

II. Repotting

Before repotting, prepare the soil for the pot. The money tree is drought-tolerant and likes warmth, so the soil must have fairly high air permeability. You can grow the money tree in acidic soil, then mix some expanded clay pebbles into the soil to increase air permeability. After planting, do not water for the time being. Wait until it has adapted to the new potting soil for a few days before watering. Before watering, make sure the soil is completely dry. Water thoroughly in one go, but do not let water accumulate in the pot, as standing water will cause the money tree's roots to rot.

III. Care after repotting

The money tree does not particularly like fertilizer, and under normal circumstances it does not need fertilizing. However, during the growing season, the nutrients in the potting soil are limited and can hardly meet the money tree's needs. At this time, you can add some fertilizer that is mildly stimulating and rich in nutrients, such as animal manure. Fertilizing twice a month is enough.
