What soil is best for orchids? Detailed guide to soil mixing methods

I. What kind of soil
1. The soil must have strong drainage capacity. Because if it cannot drain, water will accumulate at the slightest misstep, and the consequence is that in mild cases the plant's leaves become wilted and yellow, and in severe cases it dies outright, so this point is very important and must be used as a selection criterion.
2. Aeration must also be good. Why is this said? If aeration is very poor, that means the soil texture is very hard and compacted. In that case, quite apart from anything else, the roots cannot extend, which also hinders the plant's growth; furthermore, gas exchange cannot take place, so the plant will not grow very well.
3. It must have fertility. Only fertile soil can cultivate gorgeous flowers. If it is too poor, let alone growing well, even normal life activities are very difficult to maintain. Some humus can be added appropriately to enhance the fertilizing effect.
II. Mixing
1. You can use garden soil from home plus natural nutrients such as leaf mold to mix it, and it only needs a simple mixing, so it is not complicated.
2. You can also use humus plus some fine river sand and red soil, stir the three evenly and use it, taking care to be meticulous.
