What to do when a clivia flower scape is trapped? Solutions for a flower scape stuck in the middle and unable to grow out

If a clivia flower is stuck in the middle and cannot grow out, it may be because the ambient temperature where the clivia is grown is too low, or because of insufficient nutrients or lack of water. To address this, we can artificially raise the ambient temperature, or supplement nutrients and enough water to keep the clivia's flower stalk growing. We can also artificially cut open the leaves on both sides of the flower stalk to let the clivia grow out.
Solutions for a clivia flower stuck in the middle and unable to grow out
1. Cut open the leaves
If a clivia flower is stuck in the middle and cannot grow out, you can help it grow out by cutting the leaves. Use a knife sterilized with high-temperature disinfection to cut the leaves around the flower stalk a few centimeters on each side, in order to reduce the resistance the leaves cause to the flower stalk's growth, so that the flower stalk can grow out smoothly and will not bloom while trapped in the middle.
2. Raise the temperature
If you find that the reason the clivia cannot grow out is that the ambient temperature is too low, you can artificially raise the ambient temperature around the clivia. For example, place the flowerpot near a radiator or by a stove, or use an electric blanket to wrap the flowerpot to raise the temperature, achieving the goal of letting the clivia grow and bloom smoothly.
3. Fertilize and water
If you find that slow growth of the clivia is caused by lack of water and fertilizer, you can make the clivia grow out by increasing water and fertilizer. When you notice the flower buds emerging, you need to apply some liquid fertilizer to supplement nutrients for the clivia. At the same time, water once a week. The water temperature must not be too low or too high; it only needs to be slightly higher than the soil temperature.
4. Medicinal treatment
If you find that the clivia cannot grow out, you can also use a clivia scape-promoting agent sold on the market to make the clivia's flower stalk grow out and bloom smoothly. When using it, the dosage does not need to be too much: once a day, 8 drops at a time. However, when using the agent, be careful not to drip it on the clivia's flower stalk, as this can easily cause the clivia to die.
