Why is diarrhea increasing in growing-finishing pigs? And why is the stool becoming redder!
Since July 1 of this year, feed manufacturers have stopped producing commercial feed containing growth-promoting medicinal feed additives (except traditional Chinese medicine categories). Judging from the history of antibiotic bans in feed in many developed pig-farming countries such as Sweden, Denmark, and the European Union, a common outcome is that after the ban on antibiotics, intestinal health problems in pig herds emerge in pig production, such as diarrhea in weaned piglets, proliferative ileitis in growing-finishing pigs, swine dysentery, and bloat.

Similarly, in recent visits to pig farms, whether in the south or the north, there have been reports of increased intestinal problems in pig herds, especially a marked rise in the proportion of diarrhea in medium and large pigs. For example, some farms report a clear increase in diarrhea among medium and large pigs, and the stool color is becoming redder and redder. This is an increased incidence of porcine proliferative ileitis caused by the ban on antibiotics in feed. So against the current background, how can we do a good job in theprevention and treatmentof porcine proliferative ileitis?
