How potted narcissus overwinters, and will narcissus freeze to death in winter

1. How to overwinter

1. Maintain temperature: Narcissus likes a cool climate. Although it has a certain cold tolerance, it cannot withstand long periods of low temperatures. Winter temperatures in northern regions are relatively low, so it must be moved indoors in time, especially hydroponically grown narcissus, with the temperature kept above 5-10°C. In southern regions, narcissus does not need to be moved indoors, but a layer of plastic film should still be covered to provide protection against the cold. It usually blooms in January-February. Once buds appear, keep the temperature above 10°C to ensure flowering.

2. Appropriate light: Light is also essential during growth. It can be placed in a bright spot, giving it about 6 hours of sunlight per day, and it must not suffer from insufficient light.

3. Appropriate fertilizing: In winter, narcissus is still in the growth stage, so fertilizing cannot be omitted. It can be fertilized appropriately, and a little phosphorus fertilizer should be applied before flowering.

4. Ensure water temperature: When changing the water for narcissus in winter, the water must be kept at a good temperature. After drawing the water, let it sit for a while, and change it once the water temperature is similar to room temperature.

2. Will it freeze to death in winter

Narcissus has a certain cold tolerance. As long as correct care methods are taken, it will not freeze to death in winter. If hydroponically grown narcissus is kept in a below-zero environment for a long time, it may suffer frostbite and freeze to death.
