Identification of Common Pests of Agastache rugosa and Detailed Explanation of Control Methods

Aphids
The adults and nymphs of aphids mainly cluster on tender shoots and young leaves to cause damage, affecting plant growth and seriously affecting the sprouting of new buds and new leaves.
Control method: Spray 50% pirimicarb wettable powder at 2000 times dilution, or spray 40% dimethoate emulsifiable concentrate at 1500 times dilution for control. Note to stop applying the pesticide about 15 days before harvest to avoid toxic residue.
Red spider mites
The peak damage period is during the high-temperature period from June to August. Red spider mites suck sap on the underside of leaves, robbing the plant of nutrients. The specific symptoms are that small yellow-white spots first appear on the affected parts, then gradually expand into yellow-brown scorched spots, and finally the entire leaf turns yellow and falls off.
Control method: Spray Chongman Like at 1500 times dilution, or choose 1.8% abamectin at 3000 times dilution for control.
Argyrogramma albostriata
The larvae of Argyrogramma albostriata cause damage by biting and eating leaves, leaving holes or notches on the leaf surface. The habit of these larvae is that they usually hide on the underside of leaves during the day, and feed on the leaf surface at night or on cloudy days.
Control method: Apply 25% chlordimeform aqueous solution at 300-350 times dilution as a spray, or use 90% trichlorfon crystal at 1000 times dilution for spraying to kill them.
Leaf roller
The larvae of the leaf roller spin silk to roll leaves on young buds and young leaves, and chew and eat the leaves to cause damage.
Control method: Spray trichlorfon at 300-400 times dilution on the leaf surface for control, which can achieve good results.
Cutworms and mole crickets
Cutworms and mole crickets bite through the roots and stems of Agastache rugosa seedlings, causing missing plants and affecting yield.
Control method: Use 90% trichlorfon crystal to make poison bait for trapping and killing, or apply 50% phoxim at 1000 times dilution mixed with poisoned soil in furrow application.
