What to do when Phalaenopsis orchid buds wither and turn red, and how to remedy it

I. Causes

1. The environment is too dry and the humidity is relatively low, which causes the plant's flowers to wilt and drop prematurely.

2. Water splashed onto the flowers while watering, the water quality used for watering is poor, or the watering frequency is too high.

3. The plant was not shaded during high summer temperatures, causing dehydration and sunburn, or too much water was given during the cold winter weather, causing waterlogging.

4. The fertilizer used was impure, or the fertilizer amount was not well controlled.

II. Remedial measures

1. Keep the temperature of the plant's environment at around 34 degrees.

2. When watering the plant, water only after the soil dries out. The water used for watering is best left exposed to the sun. Do not water too frequently; two or three times a week is enough.

3. Use phosphorus fertilizer and potassium fertilizer for the plant; do not mistakenly use nitrogen fertilizer.

4. Regularly mist around the plant with a spray bottle to increase the humidity of the surrounding air.

5. Provide shade for the plant in summer, give it plenty of sunlight normally, and take good cold protection measures in winter, watering less to avoid root rot.
