How to care for orchids in spring

I. Keep them warm

When caring for orchids in spring, be sure to keep them warm. Because they are not frost-resistant, it is best to keep them in a warm room. During the day, try to keep the surrounding temperature between 20-26°C, and at night do not let it drop below 15°C. If you want to move them outdoors, wait until April when the temperature has risen; never move them out as soon as spring begins, otherwise they will suffer from the cold.

II. Keep them in partial shade

In spring, they begin to grow, so they need a certain amount of sunlight. But since they are not particularly sun-loving plants, in early spring when the light is relatively soft, you can let them receive more sunlight. Once spring is fully underway and the sunlight has become fairly strong, you should shade them appropriately, and it is best to keep them in a partially shaded spot.

III. Repotting and ventilation

At the very beginning of spring, you can refresh their pots and growing medium once, to ensure the orchid plants can always grow in a suitable substrate. After spring has truly begun, they should be kept in an environment with some ventilation. This can reduce the chance of them suffering pest damage and strengthen their growth.
