What causes yellowing leaves on a Clivia (Clivia miniata)?

What is going on with yellow leaves on Clivia

1. Insufficient light

1. Cause: Clivia is mostly grown indoors. If it is kept in a spot without sunlight for a long time, its leaves cannot synthesize nutrients and therefore turn yellow.

2. Solution: Simply move it to another spot with good light, or use a fluorescent lamp to supplement its light. It will recover before long.

2. Root rot

1. Cause: If care is improper and too much water is poured into the potting soil, or too much fertilizer is applied, the roots may rot, which in turn causes yellow leaves.

2. Solution: First trim the roots, that is, cut off all the rotted roots. Then nurture the roots, that is, plant it in fresh, fine, soft potting soil, then control watering and wait for its roots to regrow well.

3. Potting soil too alkaline

1. Cause: It is suited to growing in slightly acidic potting soil. If the pH is too high and it cannot adapt, it will also develop yellow leaves.

2. Solution: Switch to applying an acidic fertilizer suited to it, to acidify the potting soil and make it suitable for the plant's growth.
