Growing methods for wishbone flowers

Growing wishbone flowers involves care measures such as soil, temperature, watering, and fertilizing. Use a mix of garden soil, leaf mold, and perlite for the potting soil, maintain the most suitable growing temperature between 15-30 degrees, water once every 4-5 days during the growing period, and keep the potting soil slightly moist. Apply one round of decomposed organic fertilizer during the growing period, and apply a phosphorus-potassium fertilizer once a month during the bud stage.

Growing methods for wishbone flowers

1. Soil

To grow wishbone flowers well, you need to prepare a suitable soil. Because they like to grow in loose, breathable, well-drained, and fertile soil, you can use a mix of garden soil, leaf mold, and perlite. After mixing, disinfect and sterilize it, and loosen the soil regularly to keep it loose and breathable.

2. Temperature

Wishbone flowers like to grow in a relatively warm environment, with a growing temperature between 15-30 degrees, and they grow most luxuriantly at 18-21 degrees. Because they are not tolerant of low temperatures but tolerate high temperatures, take good cold protection measures in low-temperature winter environments, and place them in a position with ample light and suitable temperature.

3. Watering

Wishbone flowers like to grow in a moist environment. During the growing period, water once every 4-5 days to keep the potting soil slightly moist, and do not allow waterlogging. Gradually reduce watering in autumn and winter to keep the potting soil slightly dry. In winter, the water temperature should be almost the same as the soil temperature to avoid freezing damage to the roots.

4. Fertilizing

Wishbone flowers need regular and appropriate fertilizing during the growing period and bud stage. For example, during the growing period you can apply one round of decomposed organic fertilizer, during the bud stage apply a phosphorus-potassium fertilizer once a month, and add one application of potassium dihydrogen phosphate foliar fertilizer. Do not fertilize during the flowering period, and be careful not to apply concentrated fertilizer or raw fertilizer.
