What is the suitable temperature and minimum cold-hardiness temperature for a potted orange tree?

During the Chinese New Year period, many people like to buy a potted orange tree and place it in a suitable spot at home to add a festive atmosphere. The orange trees on the market have already been potted by the sellers, so we just need to spend the money to buy one and take it home to grow. But the temperature during the Chinese New Year period every year is often still quite low, especially in northern regions, and even if the potted plant does not get frostbitten, its beautiful appearance can still be affected. So, what temperature is suitable for a potted orange tree? What about its minimum cold-hardiness temperature?
In fact, the orange tree is a fruit tree with relatively poor cold hardiness, and during the cold winter season, we need to promptly provide it with measures to keep it warm and protect it from the cold. The orange tree is not very afraid of heat, though when the temperature is too high it will enter dormancy and this affects flowering and fruiting, but it is relatively afraid of severe cold. When late autumn arrives and the temperature falls below 10°C, it should be moved indoors for care. Moreover, in winter conditions the temperature should be kept between 6-12°C, because when the temperature is too low, frost damage is very likely to occur.
As an ornamental potted orange tree, we especially need to pay attention to keeping it warm and protecting it from the cold in winter. Because when the winter temperature is too low, if warming and insulation measures are not taken in time, once frost damage occurs, it not only affects its appearance, but recovery is also relatively difficult. Therefore, the winter temperature must never be lower than 5°C, which is to say the minimum cold-hardiness temperature of the orange tree is 5-6°C, and the plant should certainly not be placed outdoors. This is because the outdoor temperature in winter is generally lower than this critical temperature.
Of course, the low winter temperature is an unchangeable fact, and we can only ensure that the ornamental potted orange tree passes through the winter safely by doing a good job of keeping it warm and protecting it from the cold. Although the outdoor temperature in winter is relatively low, we cannot keep it indoors for the entire winter either, because indoor light is often relatively weak, and the plant likes a warm growing environment with sufficient light.
In view of this, on sunny days in winter, especially when the temperature is relatively high at noon, we can move the plant outdoors to let it fully receive light to promote photosynthesis and growth. But if the outdoor temperature is still very low even when there is sunlight, especially in northern regions, where even on a clear day the outdoor temperature may be below 0°C, then it is still not suitable to move it outdoors.
Since the potted orange tree likes warmth and light, and yet on clear days the temperature is too low to move it outdoors, what should be done? In that case, we can still let it stay indoors, since we cannot let the plant freeze just to let it receive light. We can move it to a spot indoors near the windowsill, as long as it can receive as much light as possible.
