What causes azalea leaves to turn yellow?

Azalea leaves may turn yellow due to improper soil, improper fertilizing, an unsuitable environment, and so on, so the soil used to grow it needs to be loose, fertile, humus-rich, and slightly acidic; its growing environment should be mainly semi-shaded, it needs sun protection and shade in summer, and in winter it should be brought indoors to protect it from the cold.
Why do azalea leaves turn yellow?
1. Unsuitable soil
When caring for azaleas, they need to be repotted once every 3-5 years; the soil used to grow them needs to be loose, fertile, humus-rich, and slightly acidic, with a soil pH between 5.5 and 6.5, and during their growing period they should be watered frequently with alum fertilizer water. If alkaline soil or clay soil is used, it will cause problems and the plant may even struggle to survive.
2. Improper fertilizing
When applying fertilizer to azaleas, we should apply it according to the plant's actual growth conditions; improper fertilizing can also cause yellow leaves, because the humus nutrients in the growing soil itself can meet the plant's growth needs, so applying concentrated fertilizer easily causes fertilizer burn to the plant; apply alum fertilizer water during the flower bud formation period, and stop fertilizing in winter.
3. Unsuitable environment
Azaleas like a humid, well-ventilated environment, and an unsuitable environment can also cause yellow leaves; their growing environment should be mainly semi-shaded, but because summer temperatures are too high, they should be placed in a semi-shaded spot for care, the air humidity around the plant should be increased, and the potting soil should be kept moist during the growing season; their most suitable growing temperature is 13°C-25°C.
