How can orchid flowers be made to have good form and strong fragrance in orchid cultivation?

As the saying goes: "It is hard for orchids and cymbidiums to bloom, and even harder for them to produce good flower form." In the process of cultivating orchids, how to make orchid flowers have good form and strong fragrance is no simple matter. Besides growing the orchid plants healthy and robust, one must also pay more attention to cultivation management in orchid care, so today the editor will talk about the cultivation points for orchid growing that can make orchid flowers have good form and strong fragrance.
1. The nutrient content of the growing medium must be complete
Although using orchid soil to grow orchids has drawbacks such as difficulty in controlling dryness and moisture, insufficient cleanliness, and easy breeding of pests, good orchid flower form is brought about by a combination of many factors, and complete nutrient content in the growing medium is a prerequisite, plus orchid plants need a large amount of nutrients for flowering and fruiting. When using granular growing medium to grow orchids, the nutrients in granular growing medium are incomplete, which will affect the flower form and fragrance of orchids, so it is best to use a mixture of orchid soil and granular growing medium to grow orchids.
2. Light must be sufficient before flowering
Sufficient light is conducive to full development of flower buds and lush growth of the plant. When the flowers bloom well, the fragrance will naturally be strong. Therefore, in the three seasons of spring, autumn and winter, let the orchids bask in the sun more; sufficient light is a necessary condition for orchids to bloom and release fragrance on time and for the flower form to be up to standard.
3. The temperature difference between day and night should be large
A large temperature difference between day and night is conducive to the accumulation of nutrients in the orchid's body, making the orchid's flower form up to standard and the fragrance strong. Therefore, at night, ventilation and air exchange should be strengthened, keeping the temperature difference between day and night at about 10°C.
4. Vernalization must be sufficient
If the winter temperature is on the high side and vernalization is insufficient, it will cause the orchid plants to develop stiff buds. Even if they bloom, the flower form will be poor and the fragrance will not be ideal. Therefore, the orchid plants should be fully vernalized so that the flower buds develop fully.
5. Proper bud thinning
According to whether the orchid seedlings are strong or weak, and following the principle of removing the weak and keeping the strong, promptly remove the newly formed flower buds after the Beginning of Winter and the flower buds formed by the back-row seedlings.
6. During the flowering period, the growing medium should be dry rather than too wet
During the flowering period, the moisture of the growing medium should not be too high; it should be appropriately drier, so that the flower form is good and the fragrance is also strong. If the moisture of the growing medium is high during the flowering period, it will cause drooping shoulders, open windows, and so on.
