What to Do When the Flower Buds of the Goldfish Plant Dry Up and Wither

1. Raise the Temperature

1. Cause: The goldfish plant blooms in winter, when the weather is very cold. If it is not kept warm in time, its flower buds will be frosted, dry up and wither, and be unable to open.

2. Remedy: Before winter sets in, move it to a warmer indoor spot and keep the temperature around it between 10-25°C.

2. Replace the Potting Soil

1. Cause: If the soil it grows in lacks nutrients and is not very breathable, its roots will struggle to take up the nutrients needed for the buds to open. The buds will also gradually dry up from the lack of nutrients.

2. Remedy: Replace the potting soil. The new soil must be sufficiently breathable and sufficiently fertile, as this is more conducive to its buds opening.

3. Drain Away Standing Water

1. Cause: Watering too much causes standing water to form in its potting soil, damaging its root system and thereby causing the plant's buds to wither and drop off.

2. Remedy: Move the pot to a well-ventilated spot, then place a towel under the bottom of the pot to absorb the water in the soil. After that, reduce watering to prevent this problem from happening again.
