How to make succulent leaves sprout fastest

1. Twist off the leaves and let them dry

If you want succulent leaves to sprout quickly, first choose leaves that are growing vigorously and are thick and plump. Then pinch the succulent leaf with your thumb and index finger and twist it off horizontally. The removed leaves should be placed in a cool, ventilated spot to dry for a while.

2. Prepare the soil

While the succulents are drying, you can prepare a loose, breathable potting mix. The soil can be made by mixing leaf mold and granular soil in equal proportions, then water the soil until moist. The moisture level is right when you can squeeze the soil into a ball in your hand, but no water drips out when you clench it.

3. Insert the leaves into the soil

Once the wounds on the succulent leaves have dried, place the leaves face up and lay them flat on the surface of the moist soil. Then put the pot in a bright spot with indirect light and good ventilation. When the soil surface turns pale, spray a little clean water, and continue until the succulent leaves take root.

4. Care after planting

After the succulent leaves have taken root, you can gently cover the roots with soil. Then water thoroughly only after the soil has dried out completely. Once the mother leaf has rooted and sprouted, move the pot to a spot with direct sunlight and gradually increase the light intensity. After that, just care for it normally as the succulent grows.

5. Points to note

If you want succulents to sprout quickly, be sure to choose a suitable season for leaf propagation, such as spring and autumn. The temperatures in these two seasons are suitable, and leaf propagation has a higher rooting and survival rate. Just make sure the growing environment is well ventilated and prevent the mother leaf from turning to mush.
