How many leaves does a Clivia need to bloom, and how do you care for it so it blooms?

I. How many leaves are needed before it can bloom

Generally speaking, once a Clivia has grown 20 leaves, it is capable of blooming. However, this number is not absolute. That is because there are many varieties, and different varieties may have different habits. Some varieties that bloom easily can flower with only 12 leaves. Other varieties that are harder to bloom need to grow 22 or even 24 leaves before they will flower.

II. How to care for it so it blooms

1. Keep it warm: To help it bloom smoothly, keep the temperature around it at about 20°C. If the temperature is too high, above 30°C, or too low, below 5°C, it will not bloom easily.

2. Moderate light: Before it blooms, it needs to receive a moderate amount of sunlight, which is more beneficial for its blooming. Be careful not to let it receive too strong light, otherwise it will actually affect its blooming.

3. Apply more phosphorus fertilizer: To help it bloom smoothly, you also need to apply some phosphorus fertilizer to increase nutrients. It is recommended to choose a foliar fertilizer, sprayed once about every 15 days.
