Orchid care methods to encourage new shoots: can only new shoots bloom?

I. How to produce new shoots
1. The division method: generally we can use the division method, carried out in moderation, and we can divide it into several plants, which can promote the growth of new shoots.
2. Injuring the connection of the pseudobulbs: this is a relatively traditional and commonly used method; after injuring its connection point, it can promote the growth of new shoots.
3. Hormones to promote sprouting: hormones can promote cell division, thereby making it grow faster, and when used well they can make new shoots grow for several successive generations.
4. Extending the growth period: generally, after an orchid has grown for a year, it usually has multiple dormant periods, and in autumn it will grow faster. We can moderately improve the environment to extend its growth period for it, which is also beneficial for encouraging new shoots to emerge.
II. Only new shoots can bloom.
It is not necessarily only new shoots that bloom; the conditions for it to produce new shoots and to bloom are different. If the care conditions given to the orchid are insufficient or excessive, it cannot bloom, and even if the plant grows luxuriantly, it will not bloom. Usually after July it enters its peak growth season, and it should be given sufficient fertilizer and nutrients; all nutrients such as proteins begin to promote the growth of the stems and leaves, in preparation for blooming or producing new shoots.
