Why are some leaves of pothos in one pot especially green

1. Mild fertilizer burn

If some leaves of pothos in one pot are especially green, it is very likely caused by slight over-fertilization. With mild fertilizer burn, individual pothos leaves become thicker, turn dark green, and their surface feels uneven. If you then give the pothos more fertilizer solution, it is very likely to cause severe fertilizer burn, making yellow and withered leaves appear. For mild fertilizer burn in pothos, we only need to stop fertilizing and continue normal care, and it will not have any effect on the pothos.

2. Uneven fertilizing

If some leaves of pothos in one pot are especially green, it is very likely caused by uneven application when fertilizing the leaves. For example, when spraying monopotassium phosphate on pothos leaves, some leaves receive more fertilizer solution. When there is no over-fertilization, these leaves that received plenty of fertilizer solution will grow more robustly, with larger leaves and greener color.

3. Uneven light

If some leaves of pothos in one pot are especially green, it may also be caused by uneven light. First, make sure the plant carries out photosynthesis fully, so that the chlorophyll in the pothos will be greater and the leaves will be greener. As for pothos leaves that receive insufficient light, the leaf color is relatively lighter, so during usual care you should often turn the pot to ensure the plant receives consistent light. When pothos carries out full photosynthesis, the plant's leaf color will be greener, but you must also avoid exposure to strong sunlight, so the plant does not get sunburned and develop sunscald.
