How to root Schefflera arboricola (dwarf umbrella tree) cuttings in water fastest? A few little tips for you
1. Water propagation timing
For water propagation of Schefflera arboricola, to speed up rooting, the temperature of the surrounding environment must be suitable. It is best to do water propagation in spring, when the temperature can stay stable at around 20°C. This is more favorable for rooting and can increase the rooting survival rate.

2. Container and water quality
Before water propagation, first prepare the container and the water. The container does not need to be too large; a transparent glass bottle is recommended. The water quality requirements are not high either. You can simply draw tap water, let it sit for a few days so the chlorine inside evaporates off, then pour it into the container and add a few drops of rooting liquid.
3. Cutting the branches
Choose a robust, pest- and disease-free plant with good growth, and cut off branches with relatively high hardness. Cut the bottom of the branch into a slanted surface, which can increase the area for absorbing water. Remove the leaves at the lower end of the branch, which can reduce water evaporation and also prevent them from rotting from being soaked in water.
4. Water propagation by cuttings
Insert the branch into the water; it does not need to go too deep, about 3-5 cm deep is enough. Wrap something black around the outside, which can block sunlight.
5. Later care
After cuttings are inserted, change the water about once every 1-2 days, add rooting liquid when changing the water, and keep them in bright indirect light. With good care and management, they can root in about 7-15 days. Once the roots have grown a bit longer and growth is stable, they can be transplanted into potting soil.
