How to repot snake plant cuttings
1. Removing from the pot
Before preparing to repot the snake plant, we must pay attention to the steps and technique of removing it from the pot. When the potting soil is tightly stuck to the pot, you can first use a wooden stick to pry the potting soil loose a bit, then pat the pot wall with your palm to make the soil separate from the pot wall; at this point you can carefully and smoothly take the plant out of the pot.
2. Trimming the roots
After taking the snake plant out of the pot, first remove the overly moist soil from the root ball, comb through the root system, and cut off the snake plant roots that have rotted or turned withered and yellow, to prevent the situation from worsening. When cutting the roots, be careful not to damage the other main roots or too many fine roots, and keep the normal root system.
3. Disinfecting
After completing the pruning process for the snake plant, we need to prepare a carbendazim solution diluted 1000-2000 times, apply the solution to the wounded parts of the plant, and finally rinse the plant with the solution, to kill the pathogens carried on the plant and prevent the plant's wounds from becoming infected by these bacteria.
4. Aftercare
After washing the snake plant, when replanting it we should first spread a layer of new soil at the bottom of the pot, then place the plant with its root ball inside, then fill in new soil, and then cover with soil and press firm to fix the plant. Do not water within 2-4 days after planting is completed; just give some light, and wait 2-4 days before watering once.
