What to do when the jade plant's leaves go soft

Reasons for soft leaves on the jade plant

In fact, soft leaves on the jade plant are a common occurrence when repotting. It is mainly because the roots suffer varying degrees of damage during the repotting process, and damaged roots weaken the plant's ability to absorb water and nutrients, and in severe cases it may even be unable to absorb them at all, so the plant enters a state of dehydration, and without water to sustain them, the leaves gradually go soft.

Solutions:

You can prune off all the old leaves, diseased leaves and insect-damaged leaves on the lower part of the plant, which reduces wasted water and also improves the survival rate. At this point, do not blindly take other measures either; simply wait for the roots to return to normal, and the leaves will gradually become plump and tender again.

Reason two

After repotting and watering, placing the jade plant in direct sun exposure causes it to dehydrate, which not only makes the leaves go soft but also seriously affects its survival rate after repotting.

Solutions:

First, move the plant to a spot with bright indirect light or partial shade and good ventilation, which allows the jade plant to recover. Do not keep the soil constantly moist. When watering, observe the soil first; only water when the soil surface has cracks or has turned slightly pale. If the soil is not dry, watering is strictly forbidden. Watering only after the soil has dried out completely is very effective for helping it return to normal growth.

All plants develop different problems when repotted, and the jade plant's leaves also gradually go soft after repotting, so it takes several days to return to normal, and there is no need for us to be too impatient.
