How to fertilize Gloxinia seedlings

To fertilize Gloxinia seedlings, you should choose the right time. After the seedlings sprout, apply a top dressing once every 10 days. Fertilizing is not allowed in cloudy or rainy conditions; it needs to be done on clear days. Use mainly nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium element fertilizers, dilute the concentration before use, and do not let the fertilizer solution splash onto the seedling shoots.

How to fertilize Gloxinia seedlings

1. Fertilize after sprouting

For Gloxinia seedlings that have just been planted into the soil, it is not recommended to apply fertilizer nutrients; it is best to wait until after sprouting before top dressing. Use mainly nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium element fertilizers to supplement the development elements for the Gloxinia seedlings, applying a top dressing about once every 10 days to ensure sufficient fertility, but before top dressing, the fertilizer concentration needs to be diluted first before use.

2. Top dress on sunny days

Gloxinia seedlings are relatively prone to stunted growth or death due to improper fertilization. Try to fertilize on sunny days in a well-ventilated environment. If there are consecutive cloudy or rainy days, do not apply fertilizer to the Gloxinia seedlings, so as to avoid fertilizer damage forming in the soil.

3. Fertilization taboos

No matter which element fertilizer is applied, it should first be mixed with water to dilute the fertilizer concentration before use, as this is safer. In addition, when using the fertilizer solution, do not pour it directly onto the seedlings, or let the fertilizer solution splash onto the seedlings, otherwise the seedlings will be burned by the decomposing fertilizer and will turn yellow, become weak and wither.
