How to water Phalaenopsis orchids correctly in autumn

When watering Phalaenopsis orchids in autumn, you need to pay attention to the watering frequency, the watering technique and the water temperature. The autumn climate becomes dry, but you should not overwater; the half-watering, half-misting method is sufficient. When watering, pour slowly along the rim of the pot, and loosen the potting soil to help absorption. In late autumn, be careful that the water temperature is not too low.
Phalaenopsis orchid watering methods in autumn
1. Watering frequency
The watering frequency in autumn is not fixed. Autumn is the boundary between the hottest summer and the coldest winter of the year, so the temperature changes are fairly obvious, and the watering frequency must change accordingly, gradually extending and transitioning from once every 3 days, adjusting according to the actual condition of the soil, keeping the soil slightly moist.
2. Watering technique
Before watering a Phalaenopsis orchid, you can first gently turn over the potting soil to make it loose and fluffy before watering. This speeds up the rate at which water seeps into the soil layer and avoids creating half-dry, half-wet "yin-yang soil." When watering, just pour along the rim of the pot; do not splash it directly onto the plant.
3. Water temperature adjustment
In early autumn the temperature is still fairly warm, and the water temperature is not much different from room temperature, so there is no need to worry about the water temperature; normal watering is fine. But in late autumn, if the temperature drops fairly quickly and the overall temperature is relatively low, place the cold water indoors for a while to warm it slightly, and water only after the water temperature is close to the soil temperature.
4. Half-watering, half-misting
Although the weather becomes fairly dry in autumn and the plant needs sufficient water to supply its own growth and development, you cannot add and use it at will. When the temperature is too low, evaporation is slow, so it is not suitable to water too much. When the air is dry, using a spray bottle to spray some water mist on the plant is a better choice.
