How to cut off the flower stalk of a clivia properly

1. Preparing the tools
After flowering is finished, the flower stalk of the clivia may still remain on the plant. It generally will not bloom again, but it will consume the plant's nutrients, so it must be cut off. Before pruning, you need to prepare the tools first. Specifically, the tools to prepare are sharp scissors, a lighter and gardening gloves.
2. Cutting off the flower stalk
Turn on the lighter and hold both blade edges of the scissors in the outer flame of the fire, lightly scorching them to sterilize them. Then wait 3-5 seconds, and once the blades have cooled down, slowly cut off the flower stalk. After cutting, prepare some paper towels and blot up all the sap that flows out. Then prepare some disinfectant and apply it to the wound on the plant to prevent infection by pathogens.
3. Follow-up care
After cutting off the flower stalk, place it in a warm spot at around 20°C and give it some soft light. During this period, pay attention to slightly restricting water and do not water excessively. After about 7 days, it will be able to resume normal growth. After that, you can resume normal watering amounts.
