Orchid Fertilization Methods and Fertilizer Type Selection

I. How to fertilize
1. Before planting: Right before planting, sufficient nutrients must be applied in the pot, so as to ensure enough base fertilizer and sustain later growth.
2. Growth period: When growth is vigorous, in order for the plant and leaves to spread and grow, the application of nutrients is essential for stable growth; applying them at this time can speed up the plant's growth rate.
3. Disease period: Because the plant lacks nutrients, a series of diseases may appear, and the leaves and roots and stems develop unhealthily; fertilizer needs to be applied according to the situation, applying the nutrient corresponding to whichever element is lacking, and the nutrient ratio must not be unbalanced.
II. What types to use
For fertilizing it, organic fertilizer is generally used, as only this can ensure a balance of all nutrient elements; before use it needs to be diluted with clear water, as too high a concentration easily burns the root system. Inorganic fertilizer is also needed as a supplement, added singly according to the situation; nitrogen promotes the growth of stems and leaves, phosphorus nutrients target root development, and potassium fertilizer helps improve resistance.
