Why Do Clivia Plants Develop Yellow Leaves? Methods to Prevent Yellow Leaves in Clivia

Why Do Clivia Plants Develop Yellow Leaves? Clivia has high ornamental value and is often grown in pots in greenhouses in China for viewing. Its peak blooming period runs from New Year's Day to the Spring Festival, and it can bloom year-round, mainly in spring and summer, sometimes in winter, and occasionally in summer between June and July. In actual cultivation, Clivia can develop yellow leaves, and there are many causes for this, such as light, temperature, fertilizing, disease, and aging, all of which can cause yellow leaves in Clivia. Therefore, today the editor will explain methods to prevent yellow leaves in Clivia, hoping it will be helpful to everyone.

I. Light

Clivia is a semi-shade plant that prefers diffused light and dislikes strong direct sunlight.

When growing Clivia indoors, make sure there is sufficient light. When light is insufficient, the leaves of Clivia lose their luster and turn yellow-green and yellow. If this happens to your Clivia, you can supplement the light to help it gradually recover.

Strong light causes Clivia leaves to dry out, become hard, lose their glossy surface, and turn pale or yellow. Therefore, in summer when the light is strong, shade work must be done well.

II. Temperature

The suitable growing temperature for Clivia is 15-25 degrees. When the temperature exceeds 30, the growth of Clivia is inhibited.

When air humidity is below 60%, Clivia leaves will wilt, and the leaf color will turn pale and yellow.

Therefore, under high temperature conditions, do a good job of shading, ventilation, and cooling; strengthen daily management, especially fertilizer and water management; in the low-temperature winter, do a good job of insulation to prevent cold damage.

III. Fertilizing

When Clivia grows, develops, blooms, and sets fruit, it consumes a large amount of nutrients. If at this time the nutrients in the soil cannot meet the growth needs of Clivia, then yellow leaves will appear.

If it is caused by a lack of fertilizer, then apply more well-rotted dilute liquid fertilizer.
