For anthurium care, the first step is to choose soil suitable for its growth

Since anthuriums have excellent ornamental value, we always like to plant a few anthuriums when growing plants at home. So how should we care for anthuriums when planting them? Next, the editor will walk you through anthurium care methods.

Anthurium Planting Tips

1. Soil

Because the anthurium is an epiphytic plant, its roots are relatively fragile. So when planting anthuriums, when preparing the soil, it is best to mix some tree bark into the soil to increase the soil's water drainage and water retention. We can also use sphagnum moss for anthurium care.

2. Water

The anthurium is a plant with relatively high requirements for moisture in the air; the air humidity should ideally be around 75%. However, the humidity in the soil where anthuriums are planted must not be too high, because if it is too high, it will cause the anthurium's roots to rot. Therefore, we need to regularly spray water into the air of the anthurium's growing environment to maintain humidity.

3. Nutrients

The anthurium is a plant with relatively large blooms, and its flowering period is also particularly long. Therefore, this requires us to apply an appropriate amount of nutrients to the anthurium to ensure its growth needs. But the anthurium's roots are also particularly fragile, so fertilizer cannot be applied directly to the anthurium; specialized anthurium fertilizer should be used for application.

4. Light

The anthurium originates from tropical rainforests, so when providing light for anthuriums, we should avoid exposing them to direct sunlight. It is best to place them in a semi-shaded environment for growth.
