How to prevent rosemary leaves from turning black? These two conditions must be met

Rosemary is just as its name suggests: charming and aromatic. Kept as a potted plant at home, it is both ornamental and fills the room with fragrance. What's more, its branches and leaves also have some edible value, and many gardening friends like to harvest its tender green leaves for cooking, which makes food fragrant and delicious. So if you are interested, you might as well grow a pot at home.
However, some gardening friends may, due to inadequate care, let the leaves of this fresh little plant turn black, and if left that way, it will die before long. So why do rosemary leaves turn black? What causes this? In fact, a normally growing rosemary will not develop black leaves for no reason.
Rosemary's branches and leaves are usually very glossy green and strikingly fresh, so when its leaves turn black, the plant must have a problem in its growth. As for the cause, black rosemary leaves are mostly caused by fungal infection. And fungal infection is often brought on when the light and ventilation conditions of the care environment are not met, and the humidity is relatively high.
At the same time, rosemary's leaves usually grow very densely, and the potted plant itself already has relatively poor ventilation and light penetration, which tends to make it more susceptible to fungal infection and disease, and black leaves are merely one symptom of its illness. To avoid the phenomenon of black leaves, these two points generally need to be done well during care:
1. Ensure sufficient light
Rosemary relatively likes light. Light can not only speed up photosynthesis and thereby better promote growth, but also improve its own resistance. If there is insufficient light, it will not only easily cause its branches and leaves to become dry and withered, but photosynthesis will also be relatively weak, so the plant's resistance will naturally be relatively weak and it will be susceptible to fungal infection.
2. Maintain good ventilation
When growing rosemary as a potted plant at home, you must ensure good ventilation in the care environment, which can reduce or avoid the occurrence of pests and diseases. Especially in a hot, humid and unventilated environment, it is more prone to disease. Therefore, it is very important to always keep the care environment well ventilated.
Of course, the above two points are only two important aspects that need to be done well to avoid its infection with disease and the appearance of black leaves. If we want it to maintain vigorous growth while also being highly ornamental and giving off a stronger fragrance, management of water, fertilizer and other aspects is often also needed.
