How to care for a Christmas cactus during and after its blooming period?

I. How to care for it during the blooming period
1. Water less: You can water during the blooming period, but be careful to water sparingly or not at all. If the surrounding environment is very dry, then watering once every half month is enough; too much water easily causes the buds to drop.
2. Do not fertilize: Although blooming consumes nutrients, the blooming period is not suitable for applying fertilizer. You can apply enough before the blooming period to sustain growth, then stop applying a few days before the flowers open.
3. Do not move its position: Once the flowers open, do not casually move its position, because its buds turn to follow the sunlight, and frequently moving it back and forth may cause the buds to keep dropping.
II. How to care for it after blooming
When the flowers have finished blooming, it enters a dormant stage. First we need to remove the spent flowers, and also prune these parts of the stem segments; through these operations the next bloom can be fuller. You should also prune some of the root system, replant it into the pot, replace it with fresh loam for growing, and you can add a little base fertilizer inside to ensure nutrition.
