Attention, succulent growers: if these signs appear, you need to repot them right away

Succulents look adorably cute with their thick, fleshy leaves, which is why so many plant lovers are fond of them. But caring for succulents is not that simple. When repotting, one careless move can kill the plant, so unless you really have to, never repot them.

Stopped growing

During their peak growing season, succulents will normally grow like crazy. If the ones at home grow slowly or stop growing altogether, it may be because the soil lacks nutrients. Just repot them in some loose, fertile soil and they will grow nonstop.

Dead branches and rotten roots

When growing succulents, dead branches and leaves and rotting roots are very common. You need to remove all the dead branches and leaves, trim off all the rotten roots, then disinfect with carbendazim, let them dry, and repot them.

Outgrowing the pot

Some succulents grow quite fast. After they outgrow the pot, some plant lovers leave them as they are for the sake of looks, and over time the roots cannot breathe properly and the plant becomes malnourished. So you must divide them or transplant them into a larger pot.

About a week before repotting succulents, stop watering, and take them out of the pot once the soil is slightly dry. After repotting, do not water immediately; you can spray some water around them to keep the soil slightly moist, and resume normal care once they have recovered.
