Clinical Diagnosis and Prevention of Common Reproductive Disorder Diseases in Small and Medium-sized Pig Farms (4)
Clinical Diagnosis and Prevention of Common Reproductive Disorder Diseases in Small and Medium-scale Pig Farms (4)
A strict quarantine procedure for introduced breeding stock is an important measure to prevent the pathogens of major diseases from beingbreeding pigsintroduced into the pig farm. When introducing breeding stock from another location, quarantine approval procedures must be handled at the animal epidemic prevention supervision agency. Before introduction, the immunization program and epidemic situation of the supplying unit must be carefully understood, and introduction from epidemic areas is strictly prohibited. After introduction, the animals should be isolated outside the farm for observation and quarantine for at least 4 weeks, and relevant monitoring should be carried out. Only when the results are negative, no symptoms appear on clinical observation, and immunity is produced after vaccination with the relevant vaccines, may they be brought into the farm for rearing. Regularly carry out testing of immune antibody levels against porcine reproductive disorder diseases, and eliminate and remove subclinically infected or latently infected pigs as far as possible. Once a suspected sick pig appears on the farm, if a diagnosis cannot be confirmed, disease material should be collected promptly or the pig that has not receivedtreatmentshould be sent to the veterinary department for examination, and after confirmation of the diagnosis, correct handling should be carried out. Diseases subject to legal reporting must be reported to the competent veterinary authority in accordance with procedures, and the diseased animals and contaminated materials must be subjected to harmless treatment in accordance with relevant regulations to prevent the spread of pathogens.
3.3 Strengthen feeding management
In the daily management of the pig farm, attention should be paid to improving the sanitary conditions of the pig house, regularly disinfecting the floor, walls, facilities and utensils of the pig house, maintaining air circulation inside the house and paying attention to regulating the temperature and humidity inside the house, subjecting the manure and urine of normal pigs to fermentation or biogas treatment, and subjecting the manure and urine, milk, aborted fetuses, fetal membranes, amniotic fluid and dead pigs of diseased pigs to harmless treatment such as incineration. At the same time, do a good job in mosquito control and mosquito elimination, rodent control and rodent elimination, deworming, isolation and other work to prevent pathogens from spreading through vectors; during the feeding process, feed must be reasonably formulated according tobreeding pigsthe nutritional needs of each stage. Choose good-quality gestation feed, lactation feed, suckling piglet feedas much as possible, pay attention to increasing nutritional components such as vitamins and minerals in the diet, and ensure the balance of limiting amino acids, especially lysine.
