Pepper seedling methods and timing: what methods are there

I. Seedling methods

1. Seed selection: The key to growing seedlings lies in seed selection. Besides your own preference, it is best to choose varieties with strong growth, disease resistance and heat tolerance, such as Taijiao No. 5, which is a very good choice.

2. Growing medium: Choose a suitable medium for growing seedlings; the conditions must be good, requiring fertility, looseness and organic matter. Before sowing, loosen the soil first to ensure the activity within it, and it must also be disinfected, which can help with prevention and control. Apply plenty of base fertilizer, preferably well-rotted organic fertilizer, which is less harsh; do not use types such as ammonium sulfate or ammonium bicarbonate.

3. Sowing and raising seedlings: Level the land and scatter the seeds into it. To ensure even sowing, you can mix in sand; after sowing, cover with less than 1cm of soil. Keep the daytime temperature at around 25°C and the nighttime temperature at 18-20°C.

II. Seedling timing

Choose the seedling time in mid-to-late February, that is, in early spring. At this time the plants are just beginning to sprout and are in relatively good growing condition, which allows them to reach the market earlier.

III. What methods are there

There are two methods for growing seedlings. Besides sowing directly, you can also first grow them in seedling trays and then transplant them into the soil.
